Hybrid Work, new solution after pandemic?

During these pandemic times, some employees tend to take working from home policy, although some crucial business are still from office working but using very tight health protocol.

People who working from home, some feel enjoy as they can spend more time with family, while the others miss office ambience and probably small chit-chat at meeting room.

Between working from home and from office, it appears something represent those two policy, hybrid work. Something that combine and people will keep enjoy their time. Hybrid is also said as “the best of both world”.

Since working from home can’t be applied by all companies, hybrid work can be another option to execute.

What are the benefits of hybrid work?

Most of jobs are finished from home as long as employee has access to cloud or software which activating file sharing over the internet. It means, make sure the connection is good and you can enjoy to work from home.

Going to the office for something you are unable to finish online, such as offline meeting, budget settlement and so on. You can share between online and offline job, but most of them should be online.

Then employee can enjoy more time because they are not fully at home or totally in charge at office. It actually suits to people who miss the office ambience.

Stay healthy during this pandemic is good thing. Perhaps working Monday and Tuesday at office make them so tired. Wednesday till Sunday at home will give them more spirits.

Any obstacle for doing hybrid work?

For every positive, there are also negatives on this hybrid work too. People should reset their schedule and time to work between office and home in a week. If the same day a week, that is good, but if the schedule will be different each week, how to handle? It can burden work life balance.

Employee tends to burnout. It is the fact since they have to set the working hours similar to people at office. They also tend to demotivate themselves and it is really hard work for the company to solve.

More reliance on internet. As said above, it is still good as long as employee has good internet connection. But, if the connection is too bad, it gives them bad impact especially when they have to download or share something.

After reading about hybrid work, is it okay for the future solution at work? Or perhaps you still choose working from home or even from office?
