Working in Startup gives you “freedom”
Reading the title and does it make you surprised? How can be freedom while working and pushed to finish the target. Working in startup always provide you all. No matter you feel satisfied or dissatisfied, you just need to accept and go on. As long as you still want to work as Startup employee.
Actually a lot of freedom you get in Startup even since your first day. You may be surprised if you are allowed to use casual outfit, no more uniform or formal outfit, except there is something special happen and need to celebrate. If you work at company or governmental area, you have to wear formal suit such as certain uniform, shirt until formal pants. Perhaps you will be rebuked if you wear jeans.
Working in Startup, you are free to wear any suit as long as it keeps the decency. For example, take collar T-shirt and jeans. It is good and none warns you because of that. For woman, you may wear informal dress mixed to jeans. No problem. People know that enjoy when dressing should be equal to the maximum performance.
Besides, you are free to work from anywhere. Startup may have office, but you also have chance to work from home or even anywhere. Moreover, technological development and digital era, helps us to get the job done without looking at where you are. You can finish from anywhere as long as you have good internet connection, which is easy to get currently.
What else? You can call you boss by name only. Probably when you are in corporate or governmental area, you should call “Mr.” or “Ms.” which means good because of politeness. But in Startup, it has no relation to be polite, but just want to be mingle and finally close relation.
Enjoy those things but stay focus here
But, behind any good points, you should be aware of a lot of things and you should stay focus. The most important thing in Startup is you have to learn anything by yourself, sometimes possible by your supervisor. For instance, none knows you can swim or not, but you have to swim from point A to point B punctually. Makes you interested?
The job pressure is of course bigger compared to corporate since you are faced into something new and should solve on time, even much earlier. This is when creativity should arise as soon and as frequent as possible. You may fail on method A, try method B and should prepare method C as back up. Great? It is called AB testing usually executed when you are working in Startup.
You may fail several times while working in Startup but remember the principle “try, fail and try again”. After so many failures, you will rise up and repeat so many times. As long as you are motivated, success awaits you at the end of time. Slowly but surely, remember that.
