Layoff Happened, but Startup Keep Becoming a Place to Work
If you know about what happened this year on Startup, there are so many layoffs, and it makes a lot of people lost their job. Perhaps it is because of the pandemic times and hard economy condition. However, even though layoff still happen, Startup keep becoming a place to work.
How could be?
It sounds a bit weird, but the fact says so. Startup still become a destination for job seekers. No matter for fresh graduate, experienced from corporate or even from fellow Startup. People always think work here will be give you chance to be the best of you, although a layoff treatment always warn you.
Working in Startup is well known to work from home or anywhere. Even though some of them require working from office. This WFH, WFA or even hybrid already applied in Startup for years ago. It becomes popular since the pandemic and corporate also apply this policy.
Besides, there are other reasons on why people choose to work in Startup. Informal outfit as long as polite, flexible time and no bureaucracy. You don’t have to wear a shirt, using T-shirt is permitted. Even in some Startups, some people permitted to wear short instead of trousers.
Talking about flexible time, it becomes an attraction on why Startup keep becoming choice as working place. You can work from home or anywhere, beside WFO, and you can set your own time. Usually people work from 8–5 or 9–6, but here you are able to work less than 9 hours. But also possible to work more than working hours sometimes.
Another one is about bureaucracy. Of course, if you work in corporate even in government area, always keep the bureaucracy. You should follow the rules and have no possibility to get shortcut, even though it is able to execute. Working in Startup gives you this access. If you think the process will be longer, you can cut and make it shorter as long as the result is achieved and better.
To be honest, if you choose Startup as your working place, means you have to perform well. As long as you give the best, you will be preserved. It also happens anywhere, not only Startup, actually.
